Special Cases

General Rule for Screenshot from Videos:

  • Caption: Figure number: Screenshot of ... (minute:second). Source: Creator's family name/Organization Publication Year
  • In-text reference: Include figure number, creator's family name and Initials, and publication year in one sentence when mentioning the screenshot.
  • Reference list entry: reference it based on where it was screenshotted.

General rule for screenshot from social listening tools such as BuzzSumo, Google Trend, etc.:

  • Caption: Short description of the table/graph. Source: Name of the social listening tool Publication Year.
  • In-text reference: include figure number, name of social listening tool, and publication year
  • Reference list: reference it as a webpage

  • Reference list: a screenshot of AI generated text ⇒ reference it as AI generated content
