You may create your own word cloud, for example, using words you obtained from various sources. In this case, you cite the sources from which you gathered the words.

You may also reproduce an artwork or image from a source rather than create it yourself. A source could be a book, journal article, map, website, webpage document, database, conference paper, technical report, newspaper article, or photograph or screenshot you take of somebody else’s artwork or image (with permission, where applicable).

Appendix Entry

In the appendix, provide a detailed description and citation of the word cloud. The format will depend on whether you created the word cloud yourself or obtained it from another source.

Caption:

  • Format: Figure number: Brief description of artwork or image. Source: Creator’s Family Name/Organisation Year of publication.
  • Example: Appendix 1: Creativity art and graphic design word cloud concept illustration Source: Adobe Stock (n.d.)

In-Text Citation:

When referring to the word cloud in the main text, you can mention it briefly and refer to the appendix.

  • Example: As shown in the word cloud in Appendix 1, the most frequent terms are related to art and design
