Adding Library resources to Canvas

This guide provides information on linking and embedding Library resources in your Canvas course and ensuring copyright compliance.

Explore Library collections

The Library has a vast array of resources available; different types and formats, including books, journals, newspapers, videos, images, and more. You can explore our collections in more detail.

Use LibrarySearch to identify Library subscribed material, however, not all Library subscribed resources appear individually in LibrarySearch, so for more comprehensive searching inside a relevant full-text database, refer to the database listings in the discipline-specific Subject Guides.

LibrarySearch is particularly useful for links to books and journal articles. Follow instructions listed under Tools for linking to resources to enable both on- and off-campus access to learning material. Remember, that if requesting digitisation of a portion of a book, then only one chapter or 10% of a print book can be scanned and made accessible via eReserve.

Open Educational Resources (OERs)

OERs are teaching resources which are legally, freely and openly available online.

OERs cover a wide range of materials: textbooks, lecture notes, tests or exams, curricula, projects, assignments, syllabi, audio, video, and animation.
