EndNote Online

Use EndNote Online to add, manage, share and sync your references, and insert and manage citations in Word.

EndNote app for iPad and iPhone

EndNote app for for iPad and iPhone is available from iTunes App Store.

The app syncs your EndNote Online library with your EndNote iPad/iPhone library, lets you attach and annotate PDF documents, create new groups, and move existing references between groups.

EndNote app for Android devices

There is currently no EndNote app for Android devices. As an alternative, if you have an EndNote Online account, you can use a browser on the Android device to log into your EndNote Online library. This will allow you to use EndNote with your mobile or smart device.

Downloading, installing and using the app

Apart from computers (Macs and Windows), EndNote can also be installed on Apple iPads and iPhones. There is currently no EndNote app for android-based tablets or smart phones.

Note: If you do not have an EndNote Online account, you can create one (register) for free on the Clarivate login webpage. It is advisable you use your RMIT e-mail address so you can gain access to our online subscriptions and full-text via EndNote.

  1. Ensure all your references in your EndNote Desktop library on your computer have been synced with your existing EndNote Online account. You want to make sure that your references in your EndNote Desktop library will be the same as those in your EndNote app.

    To sync your references: go to your EndNote Desktop library, then Edit > Preferences > Sync. Enter your EndNote Online credentials (e-mail address and password), tick the Sync Automatically option and press the Apply button. Then press the Enable Sync button and then the OK button. Press the OK button again to exit the window.
     
  2. Download and install the 'EndNote' app from the 'App Store' icon on your iPad/iPhone. Search for 'EndNote'.
     
  3. Once installed on your iPad/iPhone, open the 'EndNote' app and login into it using your EndNote Online credentials.
     
  4. Press the 'Sync' icon on the top left corner (looks like two arrows in a circle). This will sync all of your current EndNote references from your EndNote Online account so you can access them from your iPad/iPhone.
     
  5. Your references on your iPad/iPhone have now been synced. This means that the references in your 'EndNote' app library on your iPad/iPhone, the references in your EndNote Desktop library on your computer, and the references in your EndNote Online account are now all exactly the same. It is best to sync your references often to ensure they are always up to date.
