To work with EndNote Online and Word, and use Word's Cite While You Write (CWYW) function, open BOTH your EndNote Online Library and your Word document.
Click on the EndNote 21 tab in Word for the EndNote functions to appear.

You then need to tell Word that your are working with EndNote Online (as opposed to EndNote Desktop) -- please follow the instructions below.
Note: There is no RMIT Harvard style in EndNote Online, and therefore you will be unable to use it in Word. If you need to use RMIT Harvard, please use EndNote Desktop instead.
Insert in-text citations into Word
If you are working on a large document, it is a good idea to turn instant formatting off in Word before you start inserting citation as this feature can be slow. To do this:
EndNote basic allows you to generate a bibliography in a specific style. You are able to email, print or save it:
Select the Save, E-mail, or Preview & Print options.
In Word, you can select the referencing style you are using so your citations will appear in the format of that style. You can do this at any time.
If your style is not in the Style drop-down list, click on Select Another Style within the Style drop-down list. Find and select your style from there.
