Use this guide to find out about library benefits and services for the RMIT alumni community; includes how to gain free access to selected online databases, print collections and audiovisual collections.

Authentication system changing

November 2023. The authentication system for accessing Library resources is changing.

Access to Library

Please note, if you are planning to visit the Library our public hours are Monday to Friday before 6.30pm. All other times, including weekends, building access is restricted to RMIT swipe card.

Though you may have finished formal study at RMIT University, you can still access a growing number of high quality databases, e-journals and e-books in our online collection.

In this guide you’ll find information on access to:

First time access

If you're accessing the library databases, e-journals or e-books available to RMIT alumni for the first time, you'll need to reset your RMIT account.

If you are having difficulties resetting your password, please fill out the 'Online Access' form and we will activate your account.

You will need the following information:

  • Full name (first name, last name)
  • Email (to receive the password reset link)
  • Date of birth (for verification)
  • Student ID (Optional)

You can also use this login to access your LibrarySearch account for self-service to check your loans, renewing items, and place holds.
