What is research data?

• Research data is the information, records, and files that are collected or used during the research process.
• Data may be numerical, descriptive, visual, raw, analysed, experimental, or observational.
• It can be important to plan and consider an appropriate place to store your data - particularly if you would like to make it available to others to view and reuse.

How do I share my research and NTROs?

Importantly, Figshare can also be used as a repository to host NTROs - for example, Plan for green urban precincts in the recovering city. Research added to Figshare is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which helps you to track and promote your research data and outputs.

Researcher profiles

Researcher profiles and identifiers connect you within networks of researchers and maximise the visibility of your research outputs and impact. All researchers and graduate researchers are encouraged to establish an ORCID researcher ID, along with other profiles relevant to your area of research.

Communicating research and online networking

Engaging with social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Instagram or LinkedIn can be an excellent method of communicating with other researchers and practitioners in your field, as well as to a wider audience beyond academia. Social media can also provide an opportunity to network with, as well as follow and discover, key people and organisations within your community of practice.
