Mendeley - Vietnam Guide

Mendeley is a free academic reference manager tool. This start guide will provide you with information on how to create your account, build up your Mendeley Library, and use the MS Word plugin to insert citations and references.

Adding RMIT Harvard Style

The RMIT Harvard referencing style is based on the Australian Government Style Manual (AGSM), 2020 release. You can check for referencing tips and updated examples on RMIT Easy Cite

Please note:

  • Currently, the Mendeley style database does not include the updated version of RMIT Harvard style. To address this, we have adopted and modified the AGSM style using the Mendeley CSL Editor to match RMIT Harvard.
  • You can follow the instructions below to add RMIT Harvard style to your Mendeley. However, we strongly recommend that you double-check the references following assignment requirements and/or using RMIT Easy Cite to avoid losing marks.

  • We want to express our special thanks to Thanh Hậu, a current RMIT Vietnam student, for allowing us to adapt his revised CSL citation style, which is based on the Australian Government Style Manual CSL
  • Also thank you the RMIT Vietnam Liaison Librarians team for their time and effort in testing and providing feedback on the use of RMIT Harvard style with Mendeley.
