Videos in Canvas

Instructions on linking and embedding Library videos, including playlists and clips, in your Canvas course and Reading List.

Where to reference videos

Copyright includes moral rights. It is the moral right of creators of recordings to be attributed for their work.

When using videos in your Canvas course you should acknowledge their use by providing full citation details.

A full Reference List should be available either:

a. in the last slide of PowerPoint presentations

b. if videos are embedded in Canvas, include reference details at the end of each module.

Referencing tools such as Easy Cite and Open Attribution Builder will aid in acknowledging the videos.

Easy Cite provides examples of how to reference videos in various referencing styles, and the Open Attribution Builder can be used for creative commons videos.
