Information and resources for using altmetrics to demonstrate research impact.

About Dimensions

Dimensions indexes and links many different research outputs. It contextualises traditional academic research publications like articles and book chapters by linking them to other materials such as grants, patents, clinical trials, datasets, policy documents and more. Use it to fully understand the conversation in your research area.

The public version of Dimensions allows you to view:

  • publications, citation information and researcher profiles
  • linked materials such grants, patents, clinical trials, datasets, policy documents and altmetric attention
  • a range of metrics including the Relative Citation Ratio (RCR), citation count, recent citations and altmetrics
  • full text of open access articles
  • trends in a field over time

You can search for documents using DOIs, abstracts, and PubMed Identifiers

Abstract search finds similar and related content so you can see what else has been published and who else is working in this and related fields.

You can also find information on Dimensions and exercises in RMIT Research skills for HDR Candiates.
