Open Educational Resources (OER)

Open Educational Resources are freely accessible and openly licensed teaching and learning materials that can be reused, shared, revised and remixed. OERs include textbooks, quizzes, games, videos and other course materials.

Copyright advice for learning and teaching (staff login required)

Get specialist advice and guidance on: 

  • identifying licensed and copyright compliant content
  • using licensed resources and copyright works in your teaching delivery and research
  • using material copied under RMIT's educational licence with the Copyright Agency


Request digitisation of third-party copyright works such as book chapters, journal articles and images via the eReserve service. Contact: 


  • Source material to be scanned from our Library’s collection or other libraries within Australia.
  • Scan chapters from books, journal articles and artistic works. 
  • Ensure copyright compliance and add the compulsory copyright notice to scanned documents. 
  • Add these documents to the Library’s e-Reserve collection. 


Get help in obtaining clearance from authors and creators to use their work via the permission seeking service. Contact:
