Referencing

Referencing the material you have used in your research is an essential part of academic study. It is important to acknowledge the work of others and be careful not to plagiarise the material you use.

Library Resources

There are different conventions for citing different types of material.
See the Library Referencing guides for examples of how to cite this material. If in doubt ask your librarian or teacher for advice

Harvard

There are many different styles for referencing material in essays and assignments. Below are examples of how to site particular formats using the Harvard citation style.Check with your lecturer what citation style is preferred before submitting your work.

CITING IN TEXT
Harvard is an "in-text style" used in the body of the text just after quoting or paraphrasing from a work. You generally give an author, date and page no. enclosed by brackets.
