Other libraries

As an RMIT University student, you are not limited to the library resources purchased by the University. Various cooperative library schemes ensure that you have ready access to articles and books from libraries throughout Australia, and even internationally.

Visiting other libraries
Through the CAVAL Reciprocal Borrowing Program, RMIT staff and students can borrow items from other Victorian academic libraries. Ask for a CAVAL card and information brochure from one of the Library Service Desks. You must bring your student/staff card.

To identify which library holds the book or journal you are after

You can also borrow from academic libraries outside Victoria. The ULANZ (University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand) borrowing scheme lets you borrow items in person from participating Australian and New Zealand universities.

Note that that there is also a service that allows you to access the wireless network of participating universities. To use Eduroam you will firstly need to set it up via the RMIT wireless network. See http://www.rmit.edu.au/its/wireless/eduroam

Requesting items via Document Delivery
If you are not able to visit a Victorian library, or the item is only available interstate or overseas, you can place a request through the Library Document Delivery service. The service arranges electronic copies of articles or book chapters, as well as the loan of books.
